Soften and smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with a few small injections of botulinum toxin. Areas most often treated are the lines on the forehead, area between the eyebrows (glabella), or around the eyes (crows feet) although other areas of the face and neck may be suitable.

The procedure takes a few minutes and the results can last for approximately 3 months.

Anti-wrinkle injections

Botulinum toxin is a purified protein injected through the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles and although licensed to treat certain medical conditions, it remains unlicensed for use in the cosmetic industry to treat fine lines and wrinkles on the face and neck.

The procedure consists of injecting small amounts of botulinum toxin into the skin on the face or neck area. A few days after treatment, the muscle in the area injected will become relaxed. When the muscle is relaxed and the movement reduced, the overlying skin will become smoother, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

After consultation, the treatment session takes around 5 minutes and there may be small red marks or swelling, where the needle has been inserted into the skin. A few people will experience bruising which will resolve naturally over a period of one to two weeks.

Typical areas for treatment are the 'crows feet' around the eyes, the frown lines between the eyebrows and forehead lines, although other areas of the face and neck may be suitable.

Effects of the treatment can last approximately 3 months and the treatment can be repeated when the muscle action begins to return.

To find out your treatment options and if the treatment is suitable for you, please make an appointment for a consultation to discuss your medical history and expectations.
