Lip Blush Glasgow semi permanent makeup at Esteem Beauty

What is Lip Blush?

Have you always wanted fuller looking lips without the hassle of reapplying lipstick throughout the day? Lip blush is a semi-permanent makeup technique that deposits pigment into the top layer of the skin, adding colour, perfecting the shape, and giving the lips the appearance of more volume.

As we age, our lips can lose their natural definition and vibrancy, but lip blushing is a perfect solution to restore a youthful look without resorting to lip fillers or other invasive procedures. With lip blush, you can wake up every day feeling confident and beautiful, with lips that look naturally fuller, more defined, and youthful.

Lip Blush - What To Expect

At Esteem Beauty, every lip blush treatment is unique and tailored to you. The process begins with a consultation at our Glasgow West End clinic, where we combine our technical expertise and experience with your ideas and image inspiration.

We’ll ask questions about your lifestyle, makeup routine, and carefully consider factors like your eyes, brows, face shape, skin type, and age. These elements all play a role in deciding the perfect lip colour and shaping.

Once we have a clear vision of your desired look, we outline the lip contour and colour using a makeup pencil. This allows you to see the design and make any adjustments until you're completely satisfied.

The lip blush tattoo process starts with the application of a mild numbing cream to ensure you are comfortable throughout the procedure. Using a specialised tattoo tool designed for semi-permanent makeup, we carefully implant the pigment just below the skin. The key to beautiful results lies in carefully layering the pigment to achieve a soft, natural effect, and we take the utmost care to get you a result that will be noticeable, yet doesn't look in any way artificial.

Lip Blush FAQ

What is lip blush?

Lip blush is a semi-permanent cosmetic treatment that enhances the natural colour of your lips, giving them a soft, tinted look. The procedure uses a specialised tattoo gun, offering subtle, long-lasting results that enhance your lips’ natural shape and fullness.

How long does a lip blush treatment take?

A typical lip blush session lasts around 2 to 3 hours. This includes time for the consultation, numbing, and the application of the pigment.

Is the lip blush treatment painful?

Most clients report minimal discomfort during the treatment. We apply a topical numbing cream before starting to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. You may feel slight pressure or a tingling sensation, but the majority of clients find it very manageable.

How long does lip blush last?

Lip blush results typically last between 2 to 3 years, depending on factors such as your skin type, lifestyle, and how well you care for your lips after treatment. Regular touch-ups may be needed to maintain the colour over time.

Is the lip blush treatment painful?

Most clients report minimal discomfort during the treatment. We apply a topical numbing cream before starting to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. You may feel slight pressure or a tingling sensation, but the majority of clients find it very manageable.

What is the healing process like after lip blush?

After your treatment, you can expect your lips to go through a healing process that lasts around 5 to 10 days. Initially, the colour will appear darker, but it will soften as your lips heal. Mild swelling and dryness are normal. You’ll be given aftercare instructions to follow to ensure optimal results.

Can I eat and drink after my lip blush treatment?

Yes, but we recommend avoiding hot or spicy foods and drinks for a few days after the treatment. Drinking through a straw is advisable to prevent disturbing the pigment while your lips heal.

Are there any side effects or risks associated with lip blush?

Lip blush is generally safe, but like all cosmetic treatments, there are some minor risks. These can include temporary swelling, redness, or dryness during the healing period. Rarely, allergic reactions to the pigment may occur, but this is uncommon. At Esteem Beauty, we ensure your safety with a thorough consultation and allergy patch test before treatment.

Who is a good candidate for lip blush?

Lip blush is suitable for most people who want to enhance their natural lip colour or correct uneven pigmentation. However, if you have certain skin conditions, are pregnant, or are prone to cold sores, please consult with us to determine if the treatment is right for you.

How should I prepare for my lip blush appointment?

In the days leading up to your appointment, avoid blood-thinning medications like aspirin, as well as alcohol, as they can increase the risk of bleeding and bruising. If you’re prone to cold sores, we recommend taking antiviral medication before your session to prevent flare-ups.

How much does lip blush cost?

The cost of a lip blush treatment at Esteem Beauty is £550. This includes your initial session and consultation. Touch-up sessions, if needed, may be available at an additional cost.

Will the lip blush colour fade over time?

Yes, the colour will gradually fade as your skin naturally exfoliates. Over the first few weeks, you’ll notice a softening of the initial pigment, and after a few years, you may require a touch-up to maintain the desired effect.
